Silk Laundry’s Katie Kolodinski always experiments with fabrics and textures, especially in the label’s spring/summer ’24 collection which explores the Fibonacci sequence “which illustrates the perfect balance and growth, serving as an infinite source of beauty”.
It’s cut from shimmering black silk satin with a scoop neckline–mirrored at the low scoop back–and an ankle-skimming hem. It has carefully placed cotton doily inserts at the waist that create a flattering hourglass silhouette. The spirals and repeating patterns seen in the doily design are a nod to Kolodinski’s exploration of geometrics found in nature–evidence of the designer’s appreciation of the perfection and intentionality with which our universe seems to operate.
