In 2015, ex-corporate world best friends, Amrit Balani and Samuel Macias were driven by a single-minded appreciation of creativity’s capacity to heal, inspire, and connect, to launch women’s fashion label Maison Hotel. After a coincidental trip to India, Balani and Macias garnered an appreciation and admiration for Indian craftsman’s artisanal approach to design and technique. There was an inherent beauty to imperfections that felt just right for the duo’s new fashion label; slight imperfections become a representation of the manual nature of the workmanship involved, making each piece even more beautiful.
